Out with the old - in with the New

Well, another year has come and gone and we are now on the onset of the infamous 2012! (cue Twilight Zone music)

2011 was a great year for me. I accomplished a lot of artwork in 2011. Check out my Galleries for my portfolio. My mother-in-law received a new kidney from my father-in-law, which was beyond awesome! MSOA has been the great place that it always is. Such wonderful people associated with MSOA!

I think 2012 is going to be a very interesting year. I'm hoping there won't be...

Masters School of Art's Spring term is now in full force, and it's turning out to be an exciting term! I'm teaching a lot of classes this term: Color Pencil (2 classes); Color Pencil Portrait; Animal Drawing; Cartooning 101, and Watercolor. I haven't taught Color Pencil at MSOA since Fall 2008, so I'm looking forward to teaching it again. My students will have the opportunity to create color pencil masterpieces using Marlene Williams original photos. Marlene is one of our computer instructors...

Why I'm Thankful

Posted by Lisa on November 21, 2010 at 1:15 AM Comments comments (0)

Thanksgiving is upon us once again and there are so many things that I am thankful for this year.

Masters School of Art

I am so thankful for MSOA. My life just wouldn't be the same without the love and awesomeness of this art school. I've been working for them for over 6 years now, and it just keeps getting better and better every year!

My husband, Fred

I can't believe this year marked 15 years since Fred and I met o...

Autumn leaves are brown

Autumn. Aw....autumn. My favorite time of year. The leaves are beginning to change and that wonderful smell is in the air. ......awww.....

School has begun and it's off to a great start. I'm really enjoying my schedule this term. I'm taking Color Pencil Portrait, Watercolor 102, Cartooning 301, and Art History. Watercolor and Color Pencil are my two favorite mediums, so maybe this is why I'm enjoying my classes so much. I've been wanting to take Art Histor...

Oh well..

I can't believe it's been over a year since I've written in my blog. I guess I'm just not meant to be a blog writer. Pity, considering I love to write...and I'm very opinionated. That's two necessary qualities (traits?) a blog writer needs. Oh well.

So what is on my mind this evening? Ooooh....lots of things. School is about to begin in a few weeks and I've been busy preparing paperwork and lesson plans for the new term. I love teaching art. I can't think of anything else I...

What's New with Lucy-Goosey?

Posted by Lisa on May 25, 2009 at 7:32 AM Comments comments (1)

I've got an idea I'm tossing around. I have 2 loves when it comes to writing. I love to write children's stories and I love to write mysteries. I also love Lucy-Goosey, of course! :)

So why not combine all my loves into one and write an illustrated Lucy-Goosey Mystery children's book? I like it. The ideas are churning and the possibilities are a-plenty. Now all I need is the time to write it. That might be a problem.

Now that I'm working 3 ...

Job's reflection

Why must life be so hard?

I ask myself this question a lot. It seems like so many times, just when life seems to be going ok....WHAMMO....something is thrown into the spokes of your life's wheel and brings it to a screeching halt.

I keep thinking about Fred. He's been hit with so many things lately, it's a wonder his spirits are up at all. He lost his job a few months ago and there hasn't been anything at all available in his field. So, he decided to jo...

Upside-Down, Backwards Thinking

"They will call good evil, and evil good"

God's Word warned us about this happening in the end times, but it was hard to imagine ....until now.

A fine example of this has happened just recently when Department of Homeland Security came out with their "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment" report, which you can read all about here:

The Publisher's Way

I'm so excited!!

Fred and I, along with 6 others from MSOA have decided to start up a Publishing company. We have been working non-stop trying to get the basics down. There's a lot to learn when it comes to starting up your own business!!

But once the passion is there, you find yourself spending every waking moment researching...taking notes....reading, ...learning.....

I love learning new things. Sometimes I feel like my brain will e...

The Writer's Way

Posted by Lisa on March 21, 2009 at 8:06 PM Comments comments (0)

I think I let way too much time go by between my blogs. I never have been a journal writer. Even my diaries from when I was little are filled mostly with blank pages. Writing things here and there. Why should my cyber diary be any different?

I've finally started writing on my novel again. I'm so glad too, because I enjoy writing so much. I've been writing on this particular novel on and off for over 16 years! I think it's about time I finish it. Fred has been a tremen...
