I can't believe it's been over a year since I've written in my blog. I guess I'm just not meant to be a blog writer. Pity, considering I love to write...and I'm very opinionated. That's two necessary qualities (traits?) a blog writer needs. Oh well.
So what is on my mind this evening? Ooooh....lots of things. School is about to begin in a few weeks and I've been busy preparing paperwork and lesson plans for the new term. I love teaching art. I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing with my life.
When I was a little girl, I dreamed of being an interior decorator. I find that very funny, because I really have no sense of style. Unless "laid back" and "slob" are a style! If so, then I'm the master. I never have been a clean person, or neat-freak, as I lovingly call my sister. "Oscar and Felix". That's what my sister calls us. My mother even made a sign that hung on my bedroom door, as a kid, for years that read, "This room is where old spiders come to die."
I think my love for being an interior decorator came partly from my love for the movie, Pillow Talk, starring Doris Day and Rock Hudson. I've seen that movie so many times, I could quote it all with no problem. Doris Day's character was an interior decorator in that movie and she was just so beautiful and glamorous. I remember watching the movie as a child and just was in awe of Doris.Yep..interior decorating, that was for me! Ha! ....oh well.
Fun stuff in the news lately....Obama is fervently supporting building a mosque at ground zero in New York. Here we are just 9 years later after the tragedy of 9-11, where so many americans perished and so many muslims danced in the street about it. And now we want to build a mosque there? Really? What in the world is wrong with people?? Our president is an idiot and he certainly does not speak for me! Of course, it's been a while since a president truely spoke for me. Oh well.
These are the things most on my mind at the moment. Maybe it will be less than a year before I write again! This is Lisa...signing off. Peace out.
